re: Satomi Hanazaki Galbraith   profile
I'm a divorced father of two and have custody of my chidren in Japan.
I am in fear every day that thier mother (who is unstable) or grandmother may try and take them and hide them. I have found out that in Japan there is no such thing as parental kidnaping even if you don't have costudy all you need to do is take the child and hide long enough so that at one point the courts will say it's to late to return the child to the other parent. So I have come to this conclution if my children are ever taken get a private investigator to locate them and just take them back and hide long enough, just like the Japanese do. So if you want to find you child I recomend that you use a private investigator. Understand I've been here a long time and know for a fact that most lawyers all have some kind of Yakuza (mob) conections and the best investigators are conected to the Yakuza. "If you can pay they will find". In this country everything is at the City ward office on the "Koseki-Tohon"(family registry) and the "jimshuyo" (resedency registration). Without these two forms your ex-wife can not work or rent and apartment. So using an investigator at least you will know where your child is after that it's up to you and your lawyer to figure out the next step. In your case (unless you are ready to move to Japan) that you DON'T just take and hide or worse try and leave, even though there is no parental kidnaping the police may try and charege you with an old law of femal child traficking if you try and leave the country without the proper papers. In Japan all foreingers are viewed as bad an potential criminals. Good luck

FRIJ recommends you also visit crn japan, who are fighting international abduction to Japan and working to assure children in Japan of meaningful contact with both parents regardless of marital status
